Best Time to Visit Hurghada: A Month-by-Month Guide

There is no bad time — but the right month depends on whether you want heat, warmth, diving or the best value.

The Red Sea coast enjoys sunshine nearly every day of the year and swimmable water in all twelve months. But the “best” time depends on what you want — wall-to-wall heat, gentle warmth, diving conditions or the lowest prices.

Spring (March–May): the sweet spot

Daytime temperatures climb from the mid-20s into the low 30s Celsius, the sea warms to a comfortable 22–25°C, and the fierce peak-summer heat has not yet arrived. Ideal for combining beach days with diving, snorkelling and desert trips.

Summer (June–August): hot and lively

Genuinely hot — highs of 38–40°C — with a warm sea around 28°C, long sunny days and a buzzing atmosphere. If you love heat and plan to live in the water, summer delivers; just respect the sun at midday.

Autumn (September–November): the second sweet spot

As the summer heat eases, autumn brings some of the best all-round conditions of the year: comfortable high-20s to low-30s, a sea still warm from summer, and excellent diving visibility.

Winter (December–February): mild, sunny and quiet

While much of Europe is grey, the Red Sea coast basks in 20–23°C and clear skies. The sea cools to around 21–22°C — still swimmable. Perfect for winter sun and sightseeing without the heat, and a calmer time to visit.

So, when should you go?

For the ideal blend of warm-but-not-scorching weather and fewer crowds, aim for April–May or October–November. For maximum heat and a lively scene, choose summer. For winter sun and calm, come between December and February.
